October 27 Meeting Minutes
What a fantastic meeting!!
  • Featured speaker and honored guest, Roxy Orr, Rotary District 5650 Governor!!!
  • Sara inducted Tiffany Hutzel, and welcomed Idaly Pirsch as new members
  • Brad Brodersen accepted a leadership position as secretary
  • Promote mental Health by placing signs in your yards/businesses (signs can be picked up at the foundation office, call ahead please).
  • People's City Mission spoke of their history, mission and upcoming event "A Walk Through The Trees"

What a fantastic meeting!! We had a great turnout, including our featured speaker and honored guest, Roxy Orr, Rotary District 5650 Governor!!!

New member packets were given to Tiffany Huntzel and Idaly Pirsch.

Big thanks to Brad Brodersen for accepting the position of secretary for the remainder of this year!

Sara encouraged us all to continue to promote mental Health by placing signs in your yards/businesses. Heather pointed out that it is vital to ensure that the signs are placed in areas that will continue to support this, and be mindful that the signs are not removed immediately after we place them.

Roxy Orr Dist Gov. presented her message of Increased Impact and Increased Reach.  There is a plan for a District Conference on Friday May 14th, with a family day at Henry Dorly Zoo on Saturday May 15th. I'm sure you'll agree with me that this will be a wonderful day to get together and meet other Rotarians.  It will be open to all Rotarians, including their children and grandchildren!

A moving message was given by People's City Mission employee revealing his personal story of how his life was touched by the Mission.

This year instead of the Starry Night gala, People's City Mission will be auctioning/selling trees November 25, 27-29 at the Gateway Mall. Kathy Collingsworth will be decorating a tree (think Grinch), and Sara and Fields Floral will be decorating two trees.  Reach out to them if you would like to help. Even if you're not handy in the decorating field (like me) your talents can surely be utilized in other areas.

Welcome Tiffany Huntzler, New member
Please help us welcome Tiffany Huntzler as our newest member.

She was raised in Bertrand, NE but now calls Lincoln her home.  Her two "young boys", Peyton and Grant both enjoy playing football and baseball.

Let's all welcome Miss Tiffany with Rotarian pride!!  Thank you to both Sara and Dan for encouraging Tiffany to join our group!

It is my distinct pleasure to welcome Tiffany Huntzler as our newest member.   After meeting Tiffany through our president, Sara, at the JCMF golf outing it quickly became apparent to me that she is "one of us"!  She is pleasant, outgoing, and willing to pitch in to help!  That's a Giving Spirits Rotarian through and through!!

Ongoing Service Project: Mental Health

As part of our commitment to service, our club is committed to raising spirits by installing signs of support.

Carla has purchased 12 signs that are at the JCMF office.  Please stop by and place in your yard, or a friend's yard.

This initiative is integral to helping to support one another through whatever troubling times we're going through individually, as well as collectively.

Follow Kathy's "Kindness Cards" and do one thing each day to support someone else.
